J&R Quick Notes and Queries

Hey all, just putting out some some notes on what's going on, as well as a few questions to put to the group.

First off, we got through a third game of my Death Star Trench Run game, and it went swimmingly: we ended up at the end with a near recreation of the last scene, right down to a lucky roll by Luke to blow the entire thing. I'm looking over a few small changes to give the Rebels a bit more of a chance (because we can't rely on the Imperials always having Brad on their side), but otherwise I expect to be running that at Spartacon or Battlefields in 2016.

We cut as close to the source material as possible.
Question to the group here who reads the blog, I would like ask a question: Would Fridays be a better day to game than Saturdays? For the moment, it feels like more people are open on Friday than are on Saturday, and doing RPG stuff on Friday would free up that day to do a regular wargame.

As a follow-up: Would people here be interested in doing other RPGs, whether one-offs or short campaigns, in different settings? This is something I've discussed with a few other people and I wanted to gauge support for that sort of thing. I'd love to run some stuff in Star Wars (FFG Rules), Moderns (GURPS), and Wild West (GURPS) at some point, probably one-offs with pre-generated characters (unless people want to create their own). Would also like to find out what other people would be open to running.

Finally: November D&D. Dates that are good for people. Start listing them.

    1. Pish posh, focus on what works and stop diluting to oblivion.

You run D&D 5th edition! Go til it drops, we are certainly not overplaying the game now. Or are we not keeping you occupied enough with what we are doing in the campaign(s)?

If we want to one off some other stuff that is fine. I would consider bringing out OG for the infrequent appearance, for those moments when verisimilitude is needed.

      STONE CLUB RULES!!!!

In Novemeber the first two weeks should be good, but the second two weeks are out.

Friday night RPG is fine with me, although I do not promise that it would be followed by Saturday night gaming also.

Hardly done with it! Just more interested in getting some filler stuff to tide me over and scratch some itches before they wear on me. I figure one-off stuff in the background would keep things fresh on both sides of the DM Screen.

We shall never get a greater moment of transcendental humor than "STONE CLUB". And seriously, I'd love to see Og busted out because that was great.

I figure it'll be like that for most people.

  2. I should be fine for friday RPG, so long as my memory is up to it. (Recently it seems to be panning out like the Roman Empire.)

And yes, another go at the caveman game needs to happen at some time. I need to beat people to death with live snakes again.
