I finished up painting the earthwork for R.U.P.'s Battle of Bunker Hill game and then cut the green board for placing under the gaming mat. The little earthwork turned out OK. I had to resist painting grass onto it as it was dug in the hours preceding the battle there would have been little time for grass to grow over it.
the Patriots used the dug-up sod as walling and piled the loose earth against it
but I'm not about to find tiny blocks of turf and reline the walls
all that aside I'm happy with how well the timber painted up
I painted it with Americana Milk Chocolate, then drybrushed Honey Brown over it,
I finished up with a light drybrushing of Camel
the timber was painted Soft Black and drybrushed Neutral Gray
the hill is just 5/8" greenboard with a gentle slope cut into it
