the cover art is representative, if uninspired
it does provide some guidance as to colors for painting
Completing the Pickett's Charge trifecta is this set of miniatures. Again Strelets has done the unnecessary, but vastly appreciated, favor of sculpting and casting yet another set of charging Rebels. These well-detailed and very active miniatures are cast in the now-familiar light gray plastic and display a high level of detail. Mixing these with the previous two sets will enable the modeler to recreate the chaotic last moments of Pickett's famous charge. This kit was kindly provided for review by Michigan Toy Soldier Shop and is available to purchase either in their store or through their website
the rear of the box shows us with photos of the prototypes
as well as showing the seventeen new poses that this set provides
the contents of the box
three sprues of infantry and one of Command
close-ups of the infantry sprue, side A
nice active poses, crisp detail, these fellows look like they are in a hurry to get to that wall
side B of the infantry sprue, the depth of the sculpt will make painting these miniatures a breeze
Command sprue, side A,
it could be subtitled "bad day to be the boss"
as it appears most of them are down or heading that way soon
I do appreciate the fact that Strelets took the trouble to carefully sculpt the detail on both sides of the casualty figures so that you can use them either way
Superbly done, I hope that this is the last of the Pickett's Charge sets from Strelets because I'm running out laudatory of adjectives to heap on them. If you are gaming the ACW in 20mm you simply must have the full collection of these sets.
