Mostly because I have been pounding away at painting these. In a moment of madness I volunteered to paint these for Rich Uncle Pat. Nothing new about the minis or the techniques so there wasn't much to report on. The infantry and the small hover tanks come from Ground Zero Games while the big hover MICVs and the tank come from Khurasan Miniatures. The range from Khurasan is enormous . Both products are rock-solid minis; well cast, nicely detailed and realistically proportioned. Well worth a look if you are into near-future sci-fi minis, they are a tad on the larger side of 15mm, but that is to be expected these days.
the GZG power armor suits
I tried to keep the minis looking as "Prussian" as possible
dark blue uppers, gray lowers;
there was no way to simulate a Grenadier helmet so I added some gold around the face-shield
after a couple of attempts at painting an eagle on the
sergeant's chest plate I gave up and went with this symbolic version
hover bikes
the opening around the intake duct has a bright yellow ring
to remind you that you should avoid putting your hand in there!
GZG hover tanks
nicely detailed and they painted up very easily
the heavy weapons squad
even these tiny guns were crisply detailed and perfectly cast
I have to say that I generally don't care for prone figures
(flashbacks to my Airfix 1/76 days)
but these are rather nice
a bunch of the regular infantry
nicely posed, good proportions and reasonable-sized weapons
then you have you "Boss" figures
the Khurasan MICV
the hull is epoxy and it is perfectly cast, no trace of bubbles or deformation
they go very well with the GZG infantry
the Khurasan tank
it is cast every bit as well as the MICV
Now off to something completely different............
